Mission in Gaborone of the Consul of France in Johannesburg, Mr Raymond Quereilhac
Mr Qureilhac, Consul of France in Johannesburg, was on a mission in Gaborone from May 24th to 26th. This visit took place with regards to the closing of the Visa Section of the Embassy of France to Botswana as from June 1st 2016.
During his stay, Mr Quereilhac met the French community living in Botswana and Batswana officials to present the changes that will occur after the closing of the Visa Section. He exposed the reasons of this evolution and, more particularly, the nature of the related changes.
He explained that Batswana and French citizens were from now on supposed to go to Johannesburg for visa or administrative purposes and insisted on the need to book an appointment before coming. Moreover, he confirmed that he or his team will come to Botswana at least four times a year on consular visits.
