International Women’s Day 2021

Every year on 8 March the French Embassy in Botswana celebrates International Women’s Day.

Equality between women and men is a priority of the French government. For more than two years, the French Ministry for Europe and Foreign Affairs has been promoting this commitment internationally through its feminist diplomacy. Here in Botswana, we strive to translate feminist diplomacy into concrete actions on the ground, in collaboration with public institutions, development partners and civil society.

The French Embassy in Botswana is therefore very committed to the fight for gender equality, the empowerment and protection of women, targeting in particular the most vulnerable groups of women, i.e. victims of gender-based violence, women in rural areas, low-skilled women and the youth.

For this occasion, please find on our Facebook page three videos presenting the projects of Botswana NGOs funded by the Embassy in the framework of its feminist diplomacy, focusing on sexual and reproductive health, as well as the fight against gender-based violence: https://www.facebook.com/franceinbotswana/
