General elections in Botswana [fr]
More than 680,000 Batswana went to the polls on Friday, October 24, 2014, in order to elect Members of Parliament and Ward councilors.
The SADC and AU observation missions witnessed a good organization of voting operations, as well as the transparency and peacefulness of the process.
Embassies, including the French Embassy, were associated to those missions.
France would like to commend Botswana for the outstanding organization of those elections, and congratulate President Lieutenant General Seretse Khama Ian Khama for his re-election at the helm of the country.
