Regional Economic Service
The Regional Economic Service in Southern Africa of the Embassy of France in South Africa covers, in addition to South Africa and Botswana, Angola (with a service in Luanda), Lesotho, Malawi, Mozambique (with a service in Maputo), Namibia, Swaziland, Zambia and Zimbabwe. It is part of the international network of the Ministry of Economy, Finance and Industry, which includes 140 services in 118 countries abroad.
The principal objectives of the Regional Economic Service are to:
Analyse Botswana’s economic and financial situation, as well as its market accessibility for French companies.
Support the trade activities of French export companies and those already established locally, to promote French investments while informing Batswana industrialists and administrations of French produce.
Contribute, through collective work and data analysis, to defining French and EU proposals in multilateral institutions.
The Regional Economic Service relays France’s positions on financial and commercial questions.
