HE Mr Pierre Voillery, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to the Republic of Botswana,
and Special Representative to SADC.

Education:
Ambassador Voillery studied at the Ecole des Hautes Etudes en Sciences sociales in Paris where he obtained a doctorate under the direction of Marc Ferro dedicated to the Christian populations of the Ottoman Empire.

Diplomatic career:
1982-1983: Second secretary in Conakry,
1983-1986: Protocol officer at the Headquarters,
1986-1988: Deputy Chief of the Cabinet Minister,
1988-1993: First secretary in Rome,
1993-1995: Counsellor at the Permanent Mission of France to the European Union, Brussels,
1995-1997: Technical Adviser at the office of the minister for European Affairs,
1998-2002: Consul General in Thessaloniki,
2002-2004: Deputy Director for Southern Europe (European Cooperation),
2004-2005: Director of the Europe Mission (Cabinet Minister Office),
2005-2007: Deputy Permanent Representative, Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD),
2007-2008: Diplomatic Adviser, Ministry of National Education,
2008-2012: Consul General in Casablanca,
2013-2016: Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary in Bissau.
