An evening of literature – Presentation of « L’Ile des Rois », a novel by Soline Lippe de Thoisy [fr]
On the 9th October, the Cooperation and cultural action department of the Embassy of France and the Alliance Française de Gaborone hosted Mrs. Soline de Thoisy on the occasion of the presentation of her last novel “L’Ile des Rois”.
Set in the Okavango delta, “L’Ile des Rois” (Chief’s Island) is the story of a couple that mistakenly thought their love to be invincible. As betrayal, sickness and corruption threaten their love, the two lovers decide to seek refuge on Chief’s Island in the Okavango Delta, in an attempt to heal their wounds.
Following a short introduction of her novel, the author then took time to exchange with the audience. The active participation of students and professors from the University of Botswana’s French Department was particularly appreciated.
Soline Lippe de Thoisy has been living in Botswana for 12 years.
